This week I have really started personalizing center for each child so they can all learn what they need to know by the end of the school year. We have been splitting into smaller groups and working on numbers, letters and sight words for the kids who are ready!
On Monday this week we learned all about friction. We performed an experiment to see whether there is more friction on carpet or tile and whether the heavy book has more friction or the light book. The kids each made a hypothesis and then took turns pushing and helping me measure how far the books had slid.
Wednesday we had so much fun at the Science Center! I think the kids would have stayed in this water exhibit the entire time!
My son's favorite part was the stomach that made gross noises (go figure).
I love that the kids got to experience so many aspects of science all in one day!
Friday was spent making our Mother's Day presents! We also had a good discussion about nice things we could do for our moms on Mother's Day. Most of the kids agreed that helping clean up and being nice to their siblings were the best things they could do to help.
