The Z Was Zapped

Today during circle time, we read The Z Was Zapped by Chris Van Allsburg. The kids absolutely loved it. I think several of them would have been happy if I'd just read it over and over for the rest of class! I would definitely recommend checking this one out from the library and reading it at home. If you haven't read the rest of Chris Van Allsburg's books, you need to check him out. For us adults, his artwork is beautiful. For the kids, he is so creative and writes in a way that helps the kids use their imaginations.

Also, for those that had their fingers crossed for our plants, we have success! As of today, all our plants have sprouted! The radishes are doing really well. I might even have to thin them out to get some decent sized ones.

About the School

We will be working on all the academic skills your child needs to be ready for kindergarten such as: alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes. We will also be focusing on some other skills that students need such as socialization, following directions and motor skills. We will be learning these through music, play, and classroom time. I strongly believe that children learn by doing, so most of our time will be spent in hands on activities. Each month we focus on a different theme to help us get excited about our learning and to learn a little bit about science and social studies along the way!

2015-2016 School Year

Preschool
My preschool class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 - 2:30. This class is intended for children aged 3 and 4 who will not be entering kindergarten next school year. This class will be focused more on motor skills, socialization, colors and shapes. We will introduce the alphabet and numbers as well. Tuition will be $80 per month.

Pre-K
My pre-k class will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30-11:30. This class is intended for children aged 4 who will be entering kindergarten next school year. This class will focus more heavily on letter and number recognition, writing and use. Tuition will be $125 per month.

Note: Age recommendations for each class are simply recommendations. You are free to enroll your child in whichever class you feel will be most appropriate for them.
